| For
the development of reliable equations
of state for technically and scientifically important
fluids, in particular, accurate pρT measurements
of these fluids are required. For the experimental determination
of these basic properties several new accurate densimeters
have been developed and built up by our group since about
1980.
Two-sinker
densimeter
By
means of the two-sinker densimeter the pρT properties
of pure fluids can be measured in the homogeneous gas and
liquid region including the critical region and, in particular,
on the entire (vapour + liquid) coexistence curve. The densimeter
covers a temperature range from 60 K to 340 K, a pressure
range from 0.001 MPa to 12 MPa, and a density range from 1 kg/m3
to 2000 kg/m3. The total uncertainty in density
measurement is ≤0.01% to ≤0.02%. The measurements
taken with this densimeter are presented by the keyword pρT
measurements.
Single-sinker
densimeter
By
means of the single-sinker densimeter the densities of pure
fluids can be measured in the homogeneous gas and liquid region.
The densimeter covers a temperature range from 233 K to 523
K, a pressure range from 0.1 MPa to 30 MPa, and a density
range from 10 kg/m3 to 2000 kg/m3.
The total uncertainty in density measurement is ≤0.02%
for the most regions of the fluid state, except for low gas
densities below about 40 kg/m3. The measurements
taken with this densimeter are presented by the keyword pρT
measurements.
