| From 1975
to 2006, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Wagner had been the
Chair of Thermodynamics. The research in these years
covered the following fields:
Equations of state
Development of equations of state
for pure fluid substances and mixtures (gases and liquids).
Software development
Development
of software to calculate thermodynamic properties from
equations of state for scientific and industrial purposes.
Very accurate densimeters
Development of density-measurement methods and design
of very accurate densimeters.
pρT measurements
Measurement
of the density (pρT data) of gases
and liquids over wide ranges of temperature, pressure
and density.
Viscometer-densimeter
Combined
measurements of the viscosity and density of gases.
Magnetic suspension balances
Development
of special magnetic suspension balances for the measurement
of thermophysical properties, e.g. density, viscosity,
adsorption, solubility, etc.
Critical point
High
precision density measurements for the investigation
of the thermodynamic behaviour of pure fluids in the
critical region including the immediate vicinity of
the critical point.
Some
of these research fields are continued by the present
head of the Chair of Thermodynamics, see here.
The
following pages only contain details about the research
fields “equations of state” and “software.”
