Master 2.0
The Rectorate programme "Master 2.0" serves the targeted development of young academics and the further profiling of the courses offered. It supports the establishment and further development of new programmes of study that are closely linked to key research areas, include interdisciplinary elements, and are conducted in a foreign language or bilingually.
Applications were open to groups of university teachers (also with the involvement of external partners e.g. from international universities) who wish to design a new master's programme located at the Ruhr-Universität on the basis of shared research interests and in consultation with their faculties (the term "Faculty" is used for RUB’s disciplinary institutional units). Faculties could also apply individually or in combination.
The funds are awarded both for the concrete development of the master’s programme and for the initial phase of the degree course. Decisions on funding were taken by a committee of experts.
