Double-cohort Year 2013
How difficult will it be to get a place at the Ruhr-Universität Bochum (RUB) in 2013? Will I have to stand in the lecture hall, because it is too full? Will the halls of residence be overfilled? Will I have to stand in endless queues for the canteen?
To secure the quality of teaching even with rising student numbers, the RUB is not only creating a significantly higher number of study places, but is also hiring additional teachers and providing more rooms, e.g. by constructing the GD building and renting additional premises. We will also expand the course guidance centre and offer more practical placements and stays abroad. New teaching and learning concepts will make the degree courses even more flexible, e.g. by means of block seminars, e-learning, and e-examinations.
To achieve this, the project group RUB.2013 is already dealing today with the questions of tomorrow. In close cooperation with the faculties, we are preparing the university for the double intake of school leavers in 2013/14 in North Rhine-Westphalia, so we can continue to offer students good study conditions. We are planning extensive measures, on which we’ll keep you updated on our website.
If you have any questions or suggestions with regard to the double intake, we are happy to help. The RUB is looking forward to its future students!
