Central Office for Student Counselling
The Office for Student Counselling provides general and psychological
counselling for all students at the Ruhr University of Bochum.
It is staffed by a team of administrators, psychologists, social
workers and sociologists. We regard our task as that of providing
assistance for anyone with academic or personal difficulties
or with questions about studying in Bochum.
This could be questions
- About the subjects and faculty you find at the Ruhr-University
- Special questions about deciding for an academic career
- About all information you need to study in Bochum.
Psychological counselling is available in the case of
individual, personal, familial and social problems which in
any way relate to one's studies.
We provide single therapy, couple therapy and family therapy
and offer Client Centered Psychotherapy, Behavior Psychotherapy,
Gestalt Psychotherapy and Systemic Family Therapy.
Apart from individual counselling, group therapy sessions can be arranged upon request in order to deal with such topics as "anxiety about examinations", "effective working methods", or "training in job-applications techniques for graduates".
