Summer
School 2008 as transatlantic dialog
On July 7st, 2008 the
Ruhr-University of Bochum (RUB) starts its
latest transatlantic cooperation project
with the University of St. Louis (SLU). This
day is the kickoff for a five week intensive
course for 50 American and German students
in Berlin, which aims at a thoroughly laying
the foundations for a deeper understanding
and intensive cooperation between the
continents in many respects. The objective
and at the same time the challenge of the
ambitious program is connecting American and
European commercial law. With this purpose
the initiators of the program, Prof. Dr.
Roman Seer (RUB) and Prof. Henry Ordower
Ph.D. (SLU), could inspire a number of
top-class university lecturers from Germany
and the United States, which will provide
for versatile lectures from the field of
commercial, employment and property law.
Besides
the professional dialog, the Summer-School
is also designed to provide a platform for a
personal exchange between students and
lecturers. This is the reason why the course
is located in the German capital Berlin and
contains a remarkable cultural supporting
program.
Enrollment
is still possible for the last few
participants. The application period
expires on May 30th, 2008.
