Summary/Abstract
Project C3 deals with questions concerning corrosion and wear of NiTi-SMAs.
 
The corrosion properties of NiTi are better than average due to the two alloying elements. NiTi only displays weaknesses for wear in case of adhesive load.
Therefore, the investigations of this project address the quantification of nickel release under wear conditions for medical applications. 
The goal is to replicate wear and corrosions processes close to reality.
The overall aim should be to facilitate the transferability of the gained results for the user.
