RUB astrophysicists at the South Pole seek for the source of cosmic radiation

An ice cube – the window into the distant SPACE

Invisible to the human eye, a particle shower from space rains down to Earth every single day. Most of the time, electrically neutral elementary particles – socalled neutrinos – fly through our planet as though it weren’t even there. Almost ten trillion of them pass through your thumb each second. However, we do not yet know which of the objects in space send these harmless bombardments our way.
