New sheet metal forming process leads to cost-efficient prototyping and design studies
Pantomime of the robots
It almost looks as though the two orange giants were performing a synchronous pantomime. What the robots are in fact doing is forming an engine bonnet from sheet metal. By applying pressure and counter pressure whilst simultaneously sweeping a previously calibrated track, they create metal components entirely without the help of a mould. Thus, small series production becomes much more affordable.
