International Week

Ruhr-Universität is international: more than 5,300 international students are enrolled here; RUB also has numerous partner universities in all four corners of the globe. Consequently, our international friends played a major role at our 50th anniversary, no question about that!

From June 8-12, 2015, members of partner universities, students, researchers, members of staff and alumni came together at the campus to celebrate the RUB anniversary together. The programme was as diverse as the protagonists’ countries of origin: from theatre plays, through culinary delights, workshops, infopoints, language courses and lectures, up to and including exotic tunes, there was a lot to explore.

Each day was themed around a different (sub-) continent.

Event days

Monday, June 8: Asia
Tuesday, June 9: Eastern Europe
Wednesday, June 10: Western/Southern Europe
Thursday, June 11: The Americas – from North to South
Friday, June 12: Global Day

All events took place in the RUB Mensa building; individual events will also take place in Faculty and Institute rooms.
