Off-Campus Access

Use your smartphone (or laptop or netbook) anywhere in the world to access Abbreviationes™ through your university’s VPN or proxy server. (A Campus Edition license is required for this service.) Below is an example of an Apple iPhone 3G connected to a campus VPN (Virtual Private Network) using Cisco’s IPSec VPN protocol. (VPN works over both Wi-Fi and cellular data network connections.)

Alternatively, access Abbreviationes™ remotely via your office Mac or PC using Remote Desktop or VNC, or a service such as LogMeIn. (A Personal Edition license or Workgroup Edition license is sufficient for this service.) Below are examples of an Apple iPhone 3G remotely controlling (1) a PC using Remote Desktop for Windows, (2) a Mac using VNC, and (3) a PC using LogMeIn.
