Current job offers
We assign continuously liberated student assistant-jobs. The works are part of the current research (e.g., maintenance of cell culture, sample preparation, programming for control of measuring instruments with LabView) or support the lectures and practical, e.g. assistance in the preparation of trials, improvements of placement tests, scripting, etc

We have ongoing work for B.Sc., M.Sc., and Ph.D. students in our group. We offer an introduction to modern methods of near-field infrared microscopy and spectroscopy, and lasers. The investigated objects range from small prototype molecules and DNA base pairs in the gas phase up to proteins in solution (water) and also to living cells and cancer tissues. Details can continue leading the homepage and the pages will be removed.
We are members of the Universitätszentrum Medizintechnik in the Section II imaging in the terahertz imaging (THz) and with our microscopy. We work with medical institutions of the Ruhr area.
Our research addresses the following topics:
Infrared microscopy of living cells in cooperation with researchers from the Medical
T-Ray Imaging e.g. for medical applications
Computer tomography, 2D and 3D imaging with lasers from the near to the far infrared
Laser-field microscopy using an atomic force microscope (AFM)
THz spectroscopy of proteins in aqueous fluids
Investigation of protein folding with femtosecond laser (fs-laser)
Studies on the intermolecular interaction
Infrared spectroscopy of molecules in liquid-helium nanodroplets at 0.3 Kelvin (LHe nanodroplets)
Hydrogen bonds
Development of new lasers and laser spectrometers
New members of our research students starting in the in-depth lab, elective BPC and research assistants (student assistant) have full access to the infrastructure of the group, including to our computer network for Internet research, the use of modern analysis programs, etc. We offer intensive supervision and training.
For questions about our research subjects or how to participate, please make an appointment with a member of our group. Our group consists of biochemists, chemists and physicists in equal numbers. We give you a lab tour and answer questions about the research topics.
