Ordering and reactivity of adsorbates on oxide single crystal surfaces: Investigations with He atom scattering and photoelectron spectroscopy
The adsorption and
reaction of small molecules on metal covered oxide surfaces (ZnO, TiO2,
Fe2O3) will be investigated with He atom scattering. With
He atom diffraction information on the structure of the adsorbate will be
gathered, which is essential for a comparison to theorectical results. Binding
energies of adsorbates will be determined by thermal desorption spectroscopy
using the specular he signal as sensitive indication for desorption (He-TDS).
Information on the chemical identity of the adsorbed molecules will be
collected by photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS, NEXAFS) .
