Profil
Yury Arzhanov graduated from the St.-Petersburg University, where he also received a Ph. D. in Oriental Studies in 2004. He has received additional education in the field of Christian Oriental Studies at the universities of Tübingen and Halle in Germany. His research interests concern the medieval Syriac translations of Greek popular philosophy, especially the Syriac gnomological collections. Since 2010 he has participated in the project „Corpus of the Arabic and Syriac gnomologies“ at the University of Halle, and is now preparing a new edition of the Syriac collections of the Sayings of Menander.
