welcome to the pages of THE FAKULTÄT of medicine at RUHR-UNIVERSITÄT BOCHUM (RUB)!
We see ourselves as an innovative community of teachers, students, and researchers, who – as befits this particular discipline – put the individual human being at the centre of all their actions and activities. With preclinical and clinical-theoretical departments on campus and clinics in several different locations, RUB’s university hospital has more than 3.000 beds and is thus one of the biggest university hospitals in Germany. The large number of beds is doubly beneficial as it aids our teaching with opportunities for practical training in small groups, and it also benefits our research by providing an attractive environment for clinical trials. The close cooperation with other RUB faculties creates outstanding conditions for top-level interdisciplinary research in the fields of biomedicine, engineering, social sciences, and the humanities.
