Studying in Bochum

The RUB offers a variety of programmes for international students. The following information is important for determining your next steps:

Degree Courses Do you want to follow a Degree Course? The RUB offers about 100 degree courses. Applications from international students are accepted for all courses.

Exchange Programme Do you want to spend part of your study at the RUB? We have lots of possibilities via Exchange Programmes such as Socrates or Erasmus or via DAAD scholarships.

European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) To help students make the most from their study abroad, the European Commission has developed the European Credit Transfer System (ECTS) which provides a way of measuring and comparing learning achievements, and transferring them from one institution to another. In switching over to the Bachelor/Master system, the RUB has converted many of its programmes to a credit point system based on the ECTS model, which has eased compatibility between universities even more.

International Study Programmes Do you want to follow one of the RUB's specially designed International Study Programmes (some of these are in English)? If so you will need to enquire about the special application procedures.

Support and Advice During the entire study at Ruhr- Universität Bochum we offer international students complex support and advice in cultural, integrative and study-related matters and endow them with our Intercultural Tutors as student counsellors.
