In June 2011 the launch of an „European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps (EVHAC)“ was approved. The one year programme offers a combination of training and deployment in the field of humanitarian action for young volunteers. Starting in fall this year EVHAC seeks to contribute to global development by offering a qualifications framework in international humanitarian action.

The pilot project on setting-up an „European Voluntary Humanitarian Aid Corps“ is co-financed by the the European Union. The pilot project on EVHAC will be conducted by Save the Children UK in conjunction with the Network on Humanitarian Assistance(NOHA) and Bioforce
