Guidelines for Best Practices in Academia
In July 2002 the Ruhr-Universität approved a set of guidelines for best practices in academia. The guidelines state the procedures to be applied in the event of questionable professional conduct by academics.

In the event of actual or suspected breach of good conduct the Ruhr-Universität has created an Ombudsperson and a deputy Ombudsperson to deal with the matter.
