Through strategic partnerships with other research institutions, Ruhr-Universität Bochum is strengthening its position within the science landscape. A selection of important collaborations:

Center for Advanced Internet Studies

What does the Internet do to us? This is what the Center for Advanced Internet Studies (CAIS) is all about. Ruhr-Universität Bochum, the University of Bonn, Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, the University of Münster and the Grimme Institute are involved in the scientific centre for research on digitalisation. CAIS is based in Bochum. On the research agenda of the centre is the question how digitalisation affects various areas: politics and civil society, state and administration, business and work, and education and security. Overarching questions are concerned with how a digital value system can be developed, how digital sovereignty can be secured and how digital expertise can be conveyed.
