Scheme to Reward the Successful First Attainment of DFG (German Research Foundation) Projects (“Novice Premium”)
What is the objective of the scheme?
With this scheme, the Rectorate rewards the successful first attainment of an independent DFG (German Research Foundation) research project. The measure is intended to help create an incentive, especially for young researchers, to achieve earlier independence in research, and to help overcome possible inhibitions associated with making your first application.
Who can apply for the award?
The scheme is aimed at all researchers at the RUB whose applications to the DFG have been approved with the designation “first DFG application”. The first DFG application is part of the start-up financing for young researchers introduced by the DFG in June 2009. For information on the DFG’s start-up financing, see www.dfg.de.
How can applications be made?
- Simply download the application form “Novice premium”.
- Fill out the application and
- Send your application with the subject “Application for granting of a novice premium” to rektoratsprogramme@rub.de. Please add the letter of approval from the DFG as a file attachment in electronic form.
Who decides on the application?
The premium award is not competitive. All researchers whose “first DFG application” has been approved receive the premium once. All first DFG applications that are approved after announcement of this premium scheme will be taken into account.
How high is the premium?
The premium amounts to a one-off sum of 5,000 Euros.
What application deadlines have to be observed?
None. You can always submit an application.
We look forward to your applications!
