Overview
The Ruhr-University’s Faculty of Law is the only one in the Ruhr area and thus has a catchment area of the size of the Netherlands.
Currently the student body of about 3,500 students is taught by 28 professors, a large number of adjunct professors, lecturers and researchers. Each week during lecture period, more than 100 courses are offered. Our Faculty of Law offers a wide variety of academic courses covering all areas of law.

Details
In addition to the general principles of law, students can enroll in specialised legal units and practice-oriented fields of law, as there are seven majors to choose from:
- Family Law, Property Law and Civil Procedure
- Labour Law and Social Law
- National and International Business Law
- International and European Law
- Administrative Commercial Law, Environmental Law and Infrastructure
- Tax and Finance
- Criminal Defence, Criminal Law and Criminology.
The attractive and comprehensive curriculum of our faculty for national and international students is complemented by guest lectures, law-specific language courses and courses taught through specialised institutes (Institute for Social Law, Institute for Mining- and Energy Law).

Requirement: You need a counseling interview with the programme´s student counselor before registration. In some Master-Programmes there are more specific requirements. Please contact your student counselor.
