Modules and subjects of the B.Sc. in Psychology:

The course content of the Bachelor’s degree in psychology is divided in the first four semesters into the fields of methodology, intra-and interpersonal processes, and general and biological psychology.

These three areas have to be completed by all students of the B.Sc. degree course. They include methodology, an experimental practical, test construction, brain and behaviour, perception, attention and memory, retention, thinking and problem solving, evolution and emotion, learning, information processing, social psychology, developmental psychology, differential psychology, motivation and action, diagnosis and evaluation, and clinical psychology.

Areas of study in the B.Sc. Psychology

Cognitive neuroscience:
in this area of study, your education is focused on courses in the field of cognitive neuroscience. You learn how the human brain is structured, how it develops and how its functional mechanisms are constituted. You also find out how brain functions can be pharmacologically and physiologically examined using animal testing methods. Courses on neuropsychological diagnostics enable you to identify damage to the central nervous system based on specific functional deficits.

Counselling and intervention:
the emphasis is on courses in the field of counselling and intervention. You learn what social and institutional factors determine human behaviour, what interventions can influence human behaviour in this framework, and what institutional structures need to be amended in order to achieve socially desirable behaviour. The courses deal with the issues of environment, social psychology, institutions, mediation, intervention, assessment, media, and communication.
