Overview
The degree subject culture, individual and society” offers an interdisciplinary academic education which combines the perspectives of the complementary social science disciplines social psychology and anthropology, sociology and political science with respect to the relationship between the individual and society. The aspect of culture is given special attention as a link between the individual and society. The thematic focus of this degree subject, the option of choosing advanced interdisciplinary modules and your personal combination of subjects give you a content profile which primarily opens up careers in institutions and service organisations in the fields of culture, education, media, care-giving, and health care.

Social psychology, sociology, political science
The B.A. subject culture, individual and society leads the social science disciplines social psychology/social anthropology, sociology, and political science with respect to the relationship between the individual and society. The aspect of culture is given special attention as a link between the individual and society. The focus of the discipline lies in the extension of knowledge about institutions and organisations of social production, reproduction and social integration. Especially in combination with subjects like media studies, German studies, art history and theatre studies, this opens up career opportunities in educational and cultural institutions, museums, in programme areas of the media, and in the health industry.
The subject culture, individual and society consists of a basic and an advanced area. The basic area is made up of a general introductory social science module and basic courses in social psychology/social anthropology, sociology, political science, methodology, and statistics. Within the advanced area, you can set your own priorities.
Application
General requirement: You need at least a high school degree to study this programme. For admission and successful studies a high standard of German language skills is required.
