Overview

History can be studied in a 1- or 2-subject Master programme. The 2-subject-Master enables the student to study a second subject of involving approximately the same volume and workload.

Details

In the 2-subject-model of the History M.A. programme, students must choose two areas of specialization. In the 1-subject-model, there is a third area of specialization. Students can specialize in the following areas Ancient History, Medieval History, or The History of Modernity, or in the sub-areas Early Modern History, 19 th Century or 20 th Century History.

Within the chosen areas or sub-areas students can select courses from the range offered by the History Department according to principles of regional or systematic differentiation (Eastern European History, South-Eastern European History, North-American History, Economic- and Corporate History, History of Technology, Gender History, Ancillary Sciences for Historians, Theory of History). In this case different eras/sub-areas should be covered.

Application

Requirement: You need a counseling interview with the programme´s student counselor before registration. In some Master-Programmes there are more specific requirements. Please contact your student counselor.

There are no restrictions.
