Overview

The programme provides students with an introduction to the theories and methods of Gender Studies with an interdisciplinary and international perspective. The following subjects contribute to the programme:

  • History of Art
  • Media Studies
  • Modern and Contemporary History
  • Political Science
  • Sociology
  • Start: Winter semester only
  • Application: Master programme restricted.

Details

The courses taught in this programme are offered by staff from the Civilisation and Social Sciences Departments and underline the interdisciplinary nature of the programme. The courses offered are arranged into the following three modules:

Basic module: Development, Theories and Methods of Gender Studies

  • Advanced modules:
    a) Work, Institutions, Cultural Practices;
    b) Cultural and Media Representations;
    c) Identity, Positions, and Differences
  • In-depth module:
    Colloquium and 1) Praktika (6 weeks) and
    1 Seminar or 2) one In-depth module.

Application

Requirement: You need a counseling interview with the programme´s student counselor before registration. In some Master-Programmes there are more specific requirements. Please contact your student counselor.
