Details

Didactics of the school subjects:

Courses in Didactics focus on subject-related, target-group-orientated teaching and learning at school. The courses include modules for the preparation and evaluation of the practical studies.

Studies in Education:

The aim of Studies in Education is to introduce students to a discipline that is school and teaching orientated. Basic educational and developmental knowledge, along with a knowledge of the theories of socialisation, with relevance to the prerequisites of school education and lessons will be imparted. In addition, academic knowledge and the ability to reflect on school as an institution, its social functions, the resulting problems and competitive strategies for solutions will be communicated. With regard to teaching, students are to be familiarised with methods of analysing lessons, and with theories concerning the preparation of lessons and, in this context, especially with the ability to recognise the importance of empirical research into the methods of instruction .

Practical Studies:

Practical Studies consist of the so-called basic internship and additional lectures at university. The basic internship of at least eight weeks duration in the two subjects covers relevant practical studies and should normally be completed within the semester break. It is prepared and evaluated in university courses.
