Overview

The programme takes up and deepens topics and questions already dealt with in the Bachelor programmes. From the many areas in which qualifications for vocational education may be gained adult education, further education and educational counselling of organisations have been selected as the common basis for the Bachelor and Master programme in Educational Studies in Bochum.
In comparison to the Bachelor programmes with their basic theoretical orientation, the master studies are more concerned with the relevance for research in teaching methods on the one hand and with deepening the students' practical experience in the below-mentioned vocational fields in the sense that the learning process is organised in the form of project work. Despite the intended practical orientation, the master’s programme in Educational Studies in Bochum is primarily a programme centered around academic studies and research and should not be misunderstood as practical professional training.

Details

Compulsory and elective modules:
For both variants (1- or 2-subject Master) the programme is organised in five modules and one research-orientated internship. They are labeled as follows:

• A 7: Education, CV and personal ambience
• A 8: Globalization and international education research
• B 6: Innovation management in organisations
• B 7: Further education in a state of structural change
• C 3: Methods of systematical observation, enquiries and data analysis
• P: Research orientated internship

Application

Requirement: You need a counseling interview with the programme´s student counselor before registration. In some Master-Programmes there are more specific requirements. Please contact your student counselor.
