Der Studiengang

The International Master’s Program in “Criminal Justice, Governance and Police Science” has been developed by the Department of Criminology, Criminal Policy and Police Science (Faculty of Law) of Ruhr-Universität Bochum in Germany, in cooperation with colleagues from the Research Group on 'Governing and Policing Security' (GaPS) at the University College Ghent (Faculty of Business Administration and Public Administration) in Belgium. This 2-year international Master’s curriculum is designed as a unique blended-learning course allowing a global participation, offering an excellent opportunity for advanced education and life-long learning.

The International Master’s Program in Criminal Justice, Governance and Police Science focuses on international security and justice perspectives, raising awareness and facilitating a broader foundation for better decision-making in the future with regards to the following topics:

• Peace-making and peace-keeping efforts in post-conflict and transitional countries;
• Establishing rule of law, human rights standards and sustainable security;
• Capacity building in the law enforcement and criminal justice sector;
• Development personal skills of professionals working within the corresponding field of security and justice;
• Supporting NGOs and civil society in their functions to monitor and evaluate democratic police work and criminal justice based on human rights standards.

After successful completion of the program the degree “Master of Criminal Justice, Governance and Police Science” will be obtained.

Bewerbung

Voraussetzung: Für die Einschreibung benötigen Sie mindestens einen Bachelor-Abschluss in diesem oder einen inhaltlich vergleichbaren Studiengang sowie den Nachweis eines Beratungsgesprächs mit der Studienfachberatung Ihres gewünschten Master-Programms. In einigen Master-Programmen gibt es weitere fachspezifische Voraussetzungen, die Sie in den rechts verlinkten Broschüren zum Studiengang finden.
