Chemistry - MEd (2)

Overview

In Chemistry, three modules must be completed during the course of the M.Ed. programme:
The module In-Depth Study (Module 1) consists of two lectures and a laboratory seminar, which is based on the lectures. At the moment, in-depth study courses are taught in the following areas:

  • Biological Chemistry (Natural Products, Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry)
  • Industrial Chemistry (Anorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Technical Chemistry)
  • Analytical, Physical and Theoretical Chemistry

(Restrictions of electibility: If the second subject studied is Biology, a focus on biological chemistry is not possible. Similarly, Physics as a second subject rules out the possibility of choosing the analytical-physical-theoretical-chemical focus.)

  • Start: Winter semester recommendet - enrolment for summer semster is possible but usually no courses for beginners are being offered
  • Application: Not restricted.
  • Taught in: German
  • 2-subject programme: 2. subject required. - Table of Combinations

Details

The module Foundations of the Didactics of Chemistry (Module 2) consists of:

  • Didactics of Chemistry (Lecture) + Media in Chemistry classes (Seminar)
  • Chemical School Experiments (Seminar + Laboratory class)
The module Acquisition of Teaching Competences (Module 3) consists of:
  • The school laboratory as an extracurricular learning space (Seminar with Laboratory)
  • Planning and analysing lessons (Seminar attached to the core Laboratory Seminar)
  • Selected topics of chemistry teaching (Seminar attached to the core Laboratory Seminar)
  • Special didactical issues (Seminar)
