Constant-distance Nano-SECM

This instrument is equipped with OWIS steppermotors with a nominal resolution of 0,625 µm per half step and a piezoelectric positioning system (NanoCube) with a resolution of 10 nm. For accurate maintenance of tip-to-sample separation, the set-up is completed by a Perkin Elmer 7280 lock-in amplifier. The lock-in amplifier reads out shear force interactions between surface and SECM probe and keeps the probe in constant distance to the surface by a PC-controlled feedback loop. Electrochemistry is carried out via three BAS Petite Ampere-Potentiostats or alternatively via a PalmSens Potentiostat. The set-up uses the new Sensoloytics GmbH Software and control unit to address the positioning system and electrochemical equipment.
