RUB ECONOMICS PROFESSORS AMONG THE TOP 3 IN GERMANY

RUB's Department of Economics ranked #3 in a ranking of Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (a major German newspaper)  which displays universities in Germany, Austria and Switzerland with the most influential economists based on media perception, political advisory and research quality. This is a great pleasure for the whole faculty and shows that RUB's Department of Economics is gaining influence in leading research.

In the individual rankings RUB's Prof. Christoph Schmidt (Chair of Applied Economic Policy), also president of the economic think-tank RWI in Essen and head of the German Council of Economic Experts ("Sachverständigenrat"), was named the #10 most influential economist. In addition, Prof. Bauer (Chair of Empirical Economic Research), Vice President of RWI, and Prof. Manuel Frondel (Chair of Energy Economics and Applied Econometrics), Chief of Division "Environment and Resources" at RWI, also ranked among the Top 35 most influential economists in the German-speaking countries.

We are grateful about the FAZ ranking's recognition of RUB's Department of Economics and congratulate our professors for their individual ranking achievements.
