1 pkg spinach (10 oz, 284 g) 1 can water chestnuts, sliced 2 Tbsp. veg. oil 2 Tbsp. soya sauce 2 Tbsp. vinegar 1 tsp. sugar
Wash the spinach.
Microwave
Cook with water chestnuts in microwave on 100% for 3-4 min or until slightly limp. While it's cooking, mix up the liquids in a small microwave proof bowl (beat well). When spinach is done, remove it from the oven & cook the liquids for 1 min on 100%. Pour the sauce over the spinach and serve immediately.
Stove top
Steam the spinach with water chestnuts or boil it in its own water (don't add any) until it is slightly limp. While it's cooking, mix up the liquids in a small pot and lightly boil for 1 min. In the microwave it looks like it is boiling around the edges - lots of small sizzling bubbles on the outside, but I suspect that all you really need to do is heat it!
