International Students
Students will be offered a package deal including accommodation to use their
stay intensively and to avoid organizational expenditure.
What you have to take into consideration before your arrival:
Non-EU as well as non-EEA residents will need a visa in order to enter Germany. EU residents do not need a visa since their stay will not last longer than 90 days.
For a stay of less than 90 days members of the following states do not need visas:
Albania, Andorra, Antigua and Barbuda, Argentina, Australia, Bahamas, Barbados, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Brazil, Brunei, Chile, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Hong Kong, Iceland, Israel, Japan, Korea, Croatia, Liechtenstein, Macao, Malaysia, Mauritius, Macedonia, Mexico, Monaco, Montenegro, New Zealand, Nicaragua, Norway, Panama, Paraguay, San Marino, Switzerland, Serbia, Seychelles, Singapore, St. Kitts and Nevis, Taiwan, Uruguay, Vatican, Venezuela and USA.
The transit visa exemption is only valid for holders of biometric passports.

Please note that you have to apply for a visa at the latest two months before your arrival in Bochum. For this you will receive a personal invitation, which certifies your accommodation. The visa fee amounts to €60 in general.
Besides you will need a health insurance valid in Germany or a foreign travel health insurance.
