Getting there

By train

The trains which stop at Bochum include the RE 6 to Minden and the RE 1 to Hamm (coming from Köln, Düsseldorf, Duisburg), respectively RE 6 towards Düsseldorf and RE 1 towards Aachen (coming from Bielefeld, Hamm, Dortmund). For connections please see: http://www.bahn.de/i/view/GBR/en/index.shtml

From Bochum Hauptbahnhof (main station) take the underground line U35 towards Bochum Hustadt and get out at the stop “Ruhr-Universität”. (You don’t need to purchase a ticket if you bring your letter with the “Bogestra” logo).
On weekdays, the U35 leaves every 5 minutes and reaches the university within 9 minutes, on Saturdays, it leaves every ten minutes. Timetables are available on the website of the local transportation company VRR: http://www.vrr.de/en/index.html (go to journey planner).

By car

Motorway A 43, junction (Autobahnkreuz) "Bochum-Witten", exit at "Bochum-Querenburg/Universität" (exit no. 19). Universitätsstraße towards Universität/Zentrum, exit at "Uni-Mitte" (about 2 km). The street leads automatically into one of the university car parks underneath the campus.

Parking

Free parking is signposted. The closest carpark is P9.
