The Appointment Commissioners are there to ensure the long-term consistency, quality and transparency of all recruiting and appointment procedures. This includes all steps from announcing the job offer, through the selection of suitable candidates, up to the Rectorate’s final hiring decision.

As representatives of RUB, they ensure that RUB’s development goals as well as the criteria defined during the approval and advertising phase are taken into account throughout the decision-making process.

Together with the Equal Opportunity Officers and Disability Services, they make sure that the process remains fair and competitive.

The Appointment Commissioners meet regularly to exchange information and share their experiences. Through these meetings, they compile best-practice recommendations for developing and improving the processes.
