The RUBION, which is also called “Dynamitron Tandem Laboratory” or DTL, is the central facility for ion radiation and radionuclides and houses five particle accelerators. The accelerator working with a voltage of 100 000 Volts is unique in Europe and used for the investigation of novel cancer therapies.

Researchers from different disciplines and from the industry meet at the RUBION to address questions such as: How old are the Alps? Or: Why don’t semiconductors live forever? The researchers also fiddle about developing a quantum computer with enough memory capacity to save all knowledge of mankind.
