Library of the Archaeology of Mining of the Deutsches-Bergbau Museum

The Library of the Archaeology of Mining of the Deutsches-Bergbau Museum in Bochum is an inherent part of the Mining History Document Centre (the montan.dok). Since 2017, the library has been situated in the House of Archaeology with the Institute for Archaeological Studies of the RUB. The library encompasses 7 600 monographs, 320 journals, and an immense collection of more than 12 900 articles, thematically bound together in ‘varia volumes’.

The Library of the Archaeology of Mining is specialized not only for the archaeology of mining and its history, but also includes archaeometry, archaeometallurgy, as well as related sciences as, including earth science, linguistics and archaeology.

The library is available for students, researches and interested public during the opening hours without charge. Loans are not possible. For our catalogue, see www.montandok.de.
