Committees 
The organs of the DGPT are the board of directors and the general meeting.

The board of directors decides by the majority of its franchised members. It is responsible for all business of the DGPT, which is not transferred to other organs of the DGPT. 
 

Membership 
The DGPT has regular members, sponsoring members and honorary 
members.

The board of directors decides on applications for regular membership.
All regular members have equal right to vote or to candidate. 

Sponsoring members of the DGPT can be any unincorporated body, legal entity society, and corporation, who is willing and able to promote the DGPT. 

Persons, which rendered outstanding services to the plasma technology or the DGPT, can be nominated as honorary members
 

Aims of the DGPT
The only purpose of the DGPT is the promotion of plasma technology. The society serves the plasma technology as such and all persons interested in plasma technology. It also takes care of the official representation of the plasma technology and helps to mediate national and international contacts. 

The society tries to reach these aims by taking care of the tasks listed below. 

The DGPT pursues only purposes of public benefit. The money of the society is only
used for the statutory aims. The DGPT works "non profit". 
 

Tasks of the DGPT
In detail the society pursues the following tasks: 

- arrangement of contacts between members

- initiation of cooperations between german and foreign organisations and colleagues

- organizing of conferences and workshops 

- promotion of publications and general public informations

- representation of the plasma technology in the government body and other 
authorities 

- intensivation of the education in the area of plasma technology

- consultancy

- promotion of the cooperation between the industry and research institutions
