Gudrun Norbisrath

Head of the Section „Waz-Wochenende” and Head of the Feuilleton Section

Between 1966 and 1975 Gudrun Norbisrath studied German Studies, Theatre Studies and Journalism in Bochum. She has been with the WAZ since 1975 in the sections Politics, Reportage, Science, Environment and Culture. From 1982 to 1989 the portrait series “Faces of the Ruhr Area”, from a garbage collector to Uta Ranke-Heinemann, appeared in the supplement WAZ-Wochenende. Since 1985 Gudrun Norbisrath has been head of the section WAZ-Wochenende and since 2002 she has been head of the feuilleton section. She holds teaching posts at the universities of Dortmund, Witten and Essen and gives lectures on topics such as “The Craft of Writing”. Besides, Gudrun Norbisrath is the editor of several books on the Ruhr Area ("Mehr als Romantik"/ More than just Romance, "Die gestohlene Jugend"/ Stolen Youth, "Als die D-Mark kam"/ When the Deutsch Mark Came).
